How to measure your square footage:

  • Preparation: Collect a measuring tape and something to take notes with.
  • Step 01 | Measure the length of the wall. Record the length in inches.
  • Step 02 | Measure the height of the wall. Do not include any crown moulding or base board trim. Record the height in inches.
  • Step 03 | Multiply the length and height together, and record the number. This is your gross wall area in square inches.
  • Step 04 | If you have a door or window in the wall, measure and record the width and height of each in inches.
  • Step 05 | Multiply the length and height of the window/door to get the area in square inches. Record this number.
  • Step 06 | Repeat steps 4-5 for each additional window or door in your chosen wall.
  • Step 07 | Subtract all the window/door areas (in square inches) from the gross wall area (in square inches) to get the net wall area in square inches.
  • Step 08 | Divide the net wall area by 144 to convert square inches to square feet. This is your final wall area measurement in square feet.
  • Step 09 | Compare your square foot number to the Accent Wall size options, and choose an option whose coverage is greater than or equal to your square footage.
